Every now and then, it’s fun to remember that enjoying time in the dirt is not just something that one or two countries enjoy – it is a global hobby. We see numerous forms of off road racing from Dakar to the Baja 1000, and even series’ taking place in Australia. We don’t normally hear about off roading in Indonesia, however, which is what the video above is all about.
We came across this well made video by accident, but we were happy to find it as there is definitely some great off road action in the video – and at the end of the day, who doesn’t like getting muddy once in a while?
Taking place throughout Indonesia, the Indonesia Xtreme Offroad Racing Series has numerous stops along their yearly tour. One such stop was round five in Banjarbaru that brought us all the muddy goodness of this video.
One thing we found pretty interesting about the video was how many Jeep Cherokees and Comanches were being used as part of the racing series. Granted, these two trucks are fan favorites in the United States, but it’s quite a long way from home for those trucks to travel ending up all the way in Indonesia! Whats more, notice the forward-facing mud flaps the vehicles are equipped with to deflect the splashing mud and water out and away from going over the windshield – it’s quite unusual off road tech we have never seen before in use!
We here at Off Road Xtreme think that what takes place in the video looks like a blast, but you be the judge and let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!
