Playing with off-road vehicles of all sizes, shapes, and types are just about the most fun we here at Off Road Xtreme can have during any given day. We love pickup trucks, Jeeps and other SUVs, UTVs, ATVs, motorcycles, and some us were even doing BMX before we were old enough to drive anything with an engine under the hood or between its frame rails.
However, when we can across this video of the DTV Shredder, we were in a state of shock. Who would have ever thought to create a tracked off-road Jet Ski? Well BPG Werks did. “Our goal was simple, we wanted to create a new vehicle that was compact yet powerful, rideable year round in any weather, and be truly all-terrain. We envisioned the Shredder becoming a new sport that would allow anybody to enjoy the outdoors regardless of where they live or the vehicle they drive. The idea was to merge the action and powersport experience into a fully immersive off-road ride like never before,” said Ben Gulak, founder of BPG Werks (the company behind the DTV Shredder).
It’s powered by a four-stroke, 200 cc engine that puts out 14 hp, and moves the Shredder all-terrain vehicle as fast as 25 mph. Considering that you are riding what is essentially a scooter built on top a miniature tank, that is a good speed over off-road terrain. The Shredder has a six-point suspension system, a pivoting standing platform that swings to allow riders to change direction, and it can stop on a dime with a hydraulic braking system. The DTV Shredder retails for $3,999.
The video above that you are about to watch was made after assembling a team of Pro Freestyle Jet Skiers consisting of Zack Bright, Mark Gomez, and Ryan Solomon at Travis Pastrana’s Pastranaland. Their goal was to backflip a Shredder, and push the machines as hard as they could to see what kind of tricks could be done. Check out the amazing results.
