The designers and engineers took into consideration many different aspects when creating the all new 2016 Nissan Titan XD. This truck will be a first for Nissan, as it will run a diesel Cummins engine. When they were creating the truck they came up with the term “Diesel Goodness.” They took a look at what is diesel and what the consumer looks for when buying a diesel truck.
As a result, the 2016 Nissan Titan XD will come equipped with the all new Cummins 5.0L V8 turbo diesel. The engine makes 310 hp and 555 lb-ft. of torque. It’s the perfect balance of power, performance, and fuel economy, all while still being able to keep vibration and noise down. The Cummins brand immediately brings credibility to the truck and to the Nissan with the history and legacy of Cummins diesel engines.
The “Diesel Goodness” of the all new Titan is that feeling you get knowing that the engine always has more to give even when you are towing up a hill. The 2016 Nissan Titan XD has no problem towing up a hill, giving you the power you want, when you want it, without having the issue of constantly down shifting. The people who need to tow a trailer know you need a diesel engine to get the job done right.
This truck is not only going to surprise diesel fans but it is also going to surprise people that have been fans of Nissan. There is nothing out there that can compare to what is coming, and we will just have to wait and see for ourselves.
Let’s be honest, this is just what Nissan needed for their Titan which has had little to no change since it first came out in 2003. We will need to wait for long-term testing to see how the engine and the truck really do but from the looks of it, Nissan hit this one out of the park.
