In the world of hobby-grade RC (remote control) cars, the trend over the last five years has been heavily focused on bringing scale realism back to the hobby. This scale realism campaign has been backed by companies making short course RC trucks along with companies like Axial who make RCs modeled after the Ultra4/King of The Hammers vehicles.

With scale realism being all the rage in 2015, one company decided to take it to a level that up until recently, had never been reached before. Capo Racing, started in 2011 by three young men from Hong Kong, decided to blow the doors off of the scale world with the introduction of their 1/8th scale Jeep Wrangler 4×4 model. One look at this Jeep will show you all kinds of little goodies the design team did not have to include – including a light up instrument cluster, functional doors, a modeled engine under the hood, and even D-rings on the front bumper. 

What’s more, the Wrangler features a three-speed transmission, locking front and rear differentials, two or four-wheel drive modes thanks to the transfer case, and a full ladder frame made from steel.  While all of these goodies sound well and good, they do come at a premium as Capo Racing’s new Wrangler is scheduled to have an MSRP of $2,300 for the rolling chassis (as in no electronics). Despite the high price, this could be the ultimate shelf-queen for some of our Jeep JK owners out there that want a scale model of their truck!
