The sport of off-road racing is, in our opinion, the most exciting motorsport to watch, and participate in whether you’re a driver, mechanic, or any other sort of support crew member. The action is awesome, the speeds attained over rugged terrain is amazing, and the machinery is ahead of the curve compared to almost every other form of automobile racing. Some of the most exciting off-road racing has actually been done on snow in the last two years at the Red Bull Frozen Rush events.
In the video above, you will instantly get what we are talking about as you view the Top 5 Moments From Red Bull Frozen Rush 2015. We don’t mean to be spoilers, but here’s what you can expect to see crammed into the the video above that lasts right around a minute-and-a-half.
Rob MacCachren and Scott Douglas cross each other doing an over-under jump at full throttle during the first lap of their duel. Acting as if on a snowboard, Bryce Menzies does a full rail-slide in his 900 hp Pro4 truck while heading for the win in his heat.
When the winner is in and the loser is out of the final rounds, a heat race can get hot enough to melt the snow. Carl Renezeder and Todd LeDuc meet bumper-to-bumper in the last turn before the checkered flag in an all-out effort to make that final, delivering the closest finish of the entire event. MacCachren and Douglas show up a second time, almost smashing into each other on the straightaway, then go toward the finish line with nothing but a few snowflakes between their trucks.
Then 2014 Red Bull Frozen Rush champion Ricky Johnson, who has the final race of the 2015 event sewn up, hit the line just slightly askew going over one of the jumps … and well, you’ll just have to watch the Top 5 Moments From Red Bull Frozen Rush to see what happens!
