Jeep is a vehicle known for testing the limits of off-road capabilities and this Jeep is small, but indeed mighty. Enter the off road 2015 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk. Jeep engineers are putting the small Jeep to the test at Silver Lake State Park off road vehicle area in western Michigan for some fun on some good old sand dunes.
“What I’m hoping to walk away with is to capture some raw footage showing what our engineers really do to prove the capability of the all-new Jeep Renegade,” says Tyler Ruby, Marketing Launch Manager.
While driving on the dunes, Heather Scott from Jeep Vehicle Integration uses Selec-Terrain in sand mode where the Jeep puts torque to the wheels that need it most. Heather makes it look almost effortless while sand surfing the Jeep Renegade over the sand dunes. “The driver really doesn’t have to do much of anything,” says Heather.
The ’15 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk features Active Drive Low 4×4 system with low range, increased ride height, off-road tires, hill-descent control, and upgraded front and rear fascia for better off-road clearance. Powering the small Jeep is a 2.4-liter four-banger generating 184 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque married to a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Whether living by the ocean and taking it on the beach, or going down the road on a full-fledge family vacation, the Jeep Renegade is a good car that doesn’t disappoint no matter the mission.
The video is a fun one to watch as the Jeep smoothly and effortlessly conquers Silver Lake Park. That is one capable little Jeep.
