BFGoodrich just performed the ultimate stunt in regards to testing out tire strength on its brand new K02 all-terrain tire. Instead of long smoky burnouts or vigorous road testing, the company decided to test these tires in a much more unique style. The plan was to take these new BFGoodrich K02 all-terrain tires skydiving. That’s right, throw them out of a plane. It only makes sense, right?
In Stansbury, Utah, BFGoodrich decided to test the tires by dropping them out of an airplane while flying at different altitudes. Some of the higher altitudes may have left the tire in decent condition but the lack of air intact was apparent.
However, when the K02 tire was dropped from 10,000 feet, it seemed to be in perfect condition after it pummeled to the ground, bounced off a few rocks, and finally rolled to a complete stop.
While a hit like that would seriously mess up any other tire, the K02 appeared in perfect condition and was holding all of its air when it was recovered. After its ridiculously adventurous sky maneuvers, the K02 was then mounted back onto the Jeep it came from and went on its merry way, pretty much proving that this may be the strongest tire out there.
According to the video above, the K02 tire has 20 percent tougher side wall, longer tread life whether on or off road, and aggressive all-terrain traction. Check out the Off Road Xtreme 300-mile off-road experience with BFGoodrich K02 tires here!
