Currie Enterprises has a reputation for making indestructible rearends that will hold up to anything you put them through. So what better way to enhance both the Currie rearend and the famed Ford F-150 SVT Raptor than to combine the two and make an even more epic off-road machine?
Well, that’s exactly what Currie has done and you get the chance to watch the company torture test its new F9 Raptor full floating rearend in this revealing video coverage of the grueling adventure. Check it out above!
While the Ford Raptor can certainly hold its own in stock form, the factory 4×4 pickup can become even more the most demanding off-roader’s dream vehicle with the right upgrades. As Currie proves in the video, one of the best upgrades is its new F9 Raptor Rearend.
The F9 rearend for the Ford Raptor features a Currie four-inch tube F9 (Ford 9-inch) housing with 35-spline 4340 chromoly floating axle shafts, 4340 heat-treated chromoly 35-spline drive plates, and 4140 chromoly floater spindles, as well as leaf-spring pads, and billet steel floater hubs with bearings and hardware, already installed shock mounts and tabs, billet aluminum flange caps, new u-bolts, u-bolt plates, nuts and washers.
The end result is a rearend you don’t have to worry about no matter what kind of off-road adventure you’re on.
Nothing is more apparent in Currie’s test of the rearend, as the Raptor traverses everything from sandy desert terrain to the rocks of California’s Big Bear Mountain. Then just to add injury to insult, Currie packs on the pounds in a 550-mile towing test to Las Vegas.
Currie certainly knows how to build axles and with the new F9 Raptor rearend, you’re sure to enjoy more “abusive” fun with little worry the next time you take your Currie-equipped Raptor for a run!
