The great wilderness expanse of Alaska is now host to the completed Project Ultimate Titan, a joint venture between Nissan and the Wounded Warrior Project that saw crowd-sourced suggestions bring the concept to life. Previously, we got a good look at what happened in Phase 1, which saw upgrades to the suspension and tires, as well as Phase 2, which dealt with new bumpers, exhaust, bed utility, and trailer.
Here today is Nissan’s third and final video, which explains what went into Phase 3 of the 2014 PRO-4X Titan’s evolution: wheels, lights, and exterior wrap.
Per the terms of the contest, fans of Nissan Trucks’ Facebook page were asked to pick from various options in a number of posts on the official Nissan Trucks Facebook page. After 24 hours of voting had passed, Nissan compiled the results and went with the majority’s choice.
In the case of Phase 3, the fans went for a set of mean 18-inch Revolver wheels from Fuel. These matte black aluminum one-piece wheels looked every bit as aggressive and capable as the Titan would demand while running through Alaskan terrain, and were well-suited to the 35-inch Nitto Trail Grappler ND tires that they were wrapped in.
Up top, a custom-fabricated roof rack was fitted and installed to improve the Titan’s self-reliability out on the trail. It was then equipped with LED lighting from Bulldog, providing illumination all the way around the truck.
And let’s not forget this awesome wrap job from 3M. The votes for this digital desert camo pattern were very close, snagging just 36.1 percent by the time the polling session closed. We think it looks absolutely amazing now, and lends a definite military feel that this pickup was going for.
We’ll have to wait to see how this rig performs in future videos, but we can now celebrate the fact that the two lucky veterans–David Guzman and Kevin McMahon–have been selected and are currently making the most of their time in the Last Frontier state. Stay updated on their progress by Liking Nissan Trucks on Facebook, and follow the action every week on the group’s YouTube channel.
