This past weekend of August 9, 2014, at the 72,000-acre facility of WindRock Park in Oliver Springs, Tennessee, Round Four of the Southern Rock Racing Series was held. More than 30 of the South’s best rock bouncing machines arrived on Saturday to do battle with some serious climbs.
Jake Burkey would have a hair-raising moment in his climb behind the wheel of his appropriately named “Riot” Buggy. Burkey got an incredible start and was quickly up the hill. Near the top of the hill you can see his buggy bounce hard off a set of rocks and catch some serious air. Just when you think that its all about to go terribly wrong for Jake and tumble backwards down the steep hill, the rear tires hit the ground and give Burkey the chance to mash the loud-pedal to keep disaster from happening.
Burkey would struggle on his first run, but would battle back and set the fourth best time on his second climb to finish 7th overall. Ultimately Tim Cameron and his ride “UnderRated” would win this fourth event of SRRS with a total score of 96.
Lucky for us, our friends from BustedKnuckleVideo had their cameras rolling and were able to capture the dramatic moment of Burkeys. Enjoy the video above!
